Working with farmers and landowners across the nation to grow and deliver high-quality sustainable end products derived from natural and renewable sources, Eco Crops Ltd offer a range of woodland management and perennial SRC willow & poplar wood crop services and wood-based products throughout the UK. Their services include land preparation, planting, management and harvesting of crops, as well as setting up supply chains to secure income for growers.
But harvesting perennial SRC wood crops is a precise procedure and must be done strategically to maximise yield and income, all while ensuring a successful crop at each coppice cycle for a period of 30+ years.
In order to successfully harvest over 60,000 tonnes of willow across the country over the next few years, Eco Crops Ltd have partnered with Lloyd Ltd Carlisle to acquire an impressive range of New Holland machines: a FR780 Forage Cruiser and T7.225 Blue Power and T6.180 tractors.
Neil Watkins, Founder and Managing Director of Eco Crops Ltd, explained how the new machinery is fundamental to providing a full end-to-end approach for the benefit of their customers. “These machines are essential to deliver the high-quality crop harvesting service we offer our customers across the UK. This is the core of our business as we plant, manage and harvest perennial wood crops on behalf of our farmers and growers to help them get the most from their land either for their own use or for resale.”
Neil added, “Investing in these machines is a key part of delivering this high-quality service and the 130FB willow coppice header is second to none in harvesting the crop as efficiently and productively as possible.
“In today’s challenging agricultural climate, it’s crucial that we provide growers with diverse income streams and opportunities for crop diversification and marketability. This cutting-edge machinery allows us to do just that, opening up new markets and improving farm viability for growers at a time when it’s needed most.”

Lloyd Ltd is proud to be able to support Eco Crops Ltd in providing and customising this New Holland machine. John Marston, Lloyd Ltd Carlisle Dealer Principal, said, “We have seen a significant increase in the popularity of the New Holland Forage Cruiser in the past couple of years and it is exciting to see it being used on a different type of crop from normal. Neil has taken a truly innovative approach to working with local farmers on achieving a more sustainable resource which they can either use themselves or sell on, and it is the quality of the yield the FR machine and specialist header produce which is an integral part of this method. We are looking forward to supporting Eco Crops’ machinery requirements as they continue to develop and grow their products and services.”
Neil Watkins is delighted to be working with Lloyd Ltd in Carlisle again. “We have worked with Lloyd Ltd over the past few years, so it was the logical approach to continue to invest with them. Their exceptional support through both the sales process and aftersale with their excellent engineers and parts supplies is exactly what we need for extra peace of mind.
“It’s not just an investment in our business – it’s an investment in a more sustainable and profitable future for British agriculture.”
